چکیده

The present study emphasized on wood trait indices of Acrocarpus fraxinifolius for understanding the suitability species paper and pulp industries. was conducted at College Forestry, Ponnampet, Karnataka in 2020. core samples were collected from trees falling under 130 to 150 cm girth class, standing coffee-based agroforestry systems Kodagu, Karnataka, India. A total 12 using Presseler’s increment borer breast height level. For fibre analysis portion divided three, i.e., near pith portion, middle periphery, made as a composite sample. Core macerated Jeffreys solution technique Forest Product Utilization Laboratory, UAHS, Shivamogga. Fifty measurements parameters (Fibre length, Fibre width, wall thickness, Lumen width) recorded each sample stereomicroscope with an inbuilt Image Analyzer. mean properties recorded, used calculating anatomical such Runkel ratio, Slenderness Flexibility coefficient, Rigidity coefficient standard formulas. 0.580, 60.132, 63.290, 0.184 respectively. screening suggests that can be raw material production, based indices. Further research is required explore mechanical chemical commercial exploitation pulping.

Eucalyptus globulus Stumpwood as a Raw Material for Pulping

In this study, Eucalyptus globulus stumpwood samples collected from six different sites in Portugal were evaluated for their ease of pulping, using two delignification processes (kraft and alkaline sulfite-anthraquinonemethanol (ASAM)). Morphologically, the stumpwood included fibers with a mean length of 0.930 mm, diameter of 21.4 μm, lumen width of 9.1 μm, and cell-wall thickness of 6.1 μm. Th...

Suitability of Rapeseed Chemithermomechanical Pulp as Raw Material in Papermaking

The use of chemithermomechanical (CTMP) pulp from rapeseed residues as raw material for the manufacturing of linerboard and fluting medium grades was investigated. For this purpose, different alternatives for improving mechanical and optical properties of rapeseed CTMP were studied, and the addition of nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) was proposed to decrease the intensity of the beating process...

Structure of oligosaccharides by hydrolytic studies from Acrocarpus fraxinifolius Wight. seeds polysaccharide

Polysaccharide was extracted from Acrocarpus fraxinifolius Wight. seeds yielded a water soluble sugar as D-galactose and D-mannose in 1:3 molar ratio. Polysaccharide upon partial acid hydrolysis affords mainly 3 disaccharides and one trisaccharide as: (I) α-D-galactopyranosyl-(1→6)-O-α-Dmannopyranose, (II) α-D-mannopyranosyl-(1→6)-O-α-D-mannopyranose, (III) β-D-galactopyranosyl(1→4)-Oβ-D-mannop...

Gypsum Composites with CDW as Raw Material

Abstract—In this study, the feasibility of incorporating ceramic waste from bricks (perforated brick and double hollow brick) and extruded polystyrene (XPS) waste, is analysed. Results show that it is possible to incorporate up to 25% of ceramic waste and 4% of XPS waste over the weight of gypsum in a gypsum matrix. Furthermore, with the addition of ceramic waste an 8% of surface hardness incre...

Lignocellulose as raw material in fermentation processes

Lignocellulose in the form of forestry, agricultural, and agro-industrial wastes is accumulated in large quantities every year. These materials are mainly composed of three groups of polymers, namely cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Cellulose and hemicellulose are sugar rich fractions of interest for use in fermentation processes, since microorganisms may use the sugars for growth and prod...
